Heidar Helguson, born on August 22, 1977 in Akureyri, Iceland, made his debut for the national team in a friendly match against Malta in April 1999. He has earned 40 caps and has scored 6 goals for Iceland in his international career so far.
Heidar Helguson began his soccer career with the Icelandic club Próttur R and then moved to the Norwegian club, Lillestrøm Sportsklubb in 1998. Heidar Helguson was signed by Fulham Football Club, a team based in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham for the 2005-06 season of the English Premier League. He scored 8 goals for the team in his first season with it. In the following season he went on to score another 14 goals at the Premier League for Fulham taking his career record to an all time high.
